With the purpose of strengthening working ties and continuing to contribute to the development of the country, the newly minted and first woman President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama Marcela Galindo, took a tour of the Poultry Processing Plant of Empresas Melo, interested in understanding the contribution that agricultural and agroindustrial activities make to the country's economy.
Galindo was received and accompanied on this tour by Arturo Donaldo Melo, President of Empresas Melo, SA and Federico Melo, COO of the Commercial Group, who provided details about the 5,300 job positions that the conglomerate currently has, as well as about the important investments that have been made in infrastructure, equipment and cutting-edge technologies that have allowed the modernization and automation of production processes in the pursuit of achieving sustained improvements in competitiveness, efficiency, productivity and quality that consumers recognize in all Melo products.
The meeting was conducive to exchanging experiences and information related to national news and in order to generate positive contributions to the socioeconomic development of the country.
At the end of the tour, President Galindo praised the facilities visited, describing it as a first-world plant, a sign of the confidence of businessmen in the agricultural and agro-industrial sector in their effort and commitment to guarantee food production in our country, activities that the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama considers that it is necessary to continue supporting, developing and strengthening due to its importance and great contribution as a generator of jobs and income for hundreds of thousands of Panamanians who depend on rural activities.
